A coastal trough and East Coast Low may cause heavy showers and gusty winds in NSW by Saturday. On Friday a coastal trough is set to deepen along the NSW and QLD coasts this will generate heavy shower activity along the coastal areas. Some areas could see 40mm+ on Friday! especially under any storm which may develop in to Saturday along with heavy rain periods gusty winds are set to accompany the situation.

Grounded

I was all set to undertake a Ariel survey of flooding around the Shoalhaven & Illawarra but unfortunately the airfield at Jaspers Brush near Berry NSW more resembles a lake.

Wild Weather Quick Update - 11:15pm

A intense band of storm activity is currently heading for the NSW coast between Gosford and the Illawarra,
This is a very unpredictable situation which should be closely monitored, The estimated time of impact would be around 1-3am depending on your location the further south the weaker I would anticipate effects.

ECL Weather Update Evening - 21/04/15

Today sure has been quite an eye opener in the Storm Chasing community as well as the wider community with this quite significant event bringing sadly high levels of destruction both through wind and flooding.

Earlier today authorities had sent emergency alerts to tens of thousands of people in NSW's Hunter region as wild weather claimed three lives, The NSW Premier Mike Baird said that a state-of-emergency declaration was "under consideration" as well as earlier encouraging people to leave work early to avoid being caught in the deteriorating weather conditions.

ECL Weather Update - 21/04/15

Wild weather has battered the NSW coast over the last 24 hours with many areas sustaining flooding and wind damage, There are still thousands of homes without power. Heavy rain and wind gusts in excess of 135 km/h have lead to this weather system being likened to cyclone conditions

The Hunter and Mid North Coast have bore the brunt of these conditions with up to 200mm of rain expect to fall in that area today.

Waterfalls!

The rain is sure to get some of our local waterfalls flowing again...
