Happy New Storm? 2015
Happy New Year! 01/01/15
It's New Years Day and as some of us were catching up on missed sleep, hangovers and the rest mother nature is working on a different plan one which sparked my interests around 5:30pm this afternoon... I was off in pursuit of a gut feeling that as a rather weak southerly change was making it's way up the coast a thunderstorm might be a result.
I arrived at Kiama as it was a great staging point with some good views, I was greeted with a cell that built to my SW just moved just NE or the township of Berry NSW. This was my first taste of what was to come....
I was able to capture a great time-lapse of the sunset with the storm structure it highlighted. I then got talking with fellow chasers Mr Keene and Mr Jarrett, we headed just to the west of Kiama too what a cell moving NE from that location.
It then became a cat and mouse game until a rather strong storm developed near Picton and it was on.. Off we went in hot pursuit..The end results were a spectacular welcome in to 2015.
